A dream in motion…

The past few weeks have been a whirlwind—fast-moving, exhilarating, and filled with moments I’ll never forget (so many burns, ow). Every day brings something new as we settle into our little corner of Columbia, SC. Some days are bustling from the moment we open; others are quieter, giving us space to breathe. But every single day, we’re meeting more of our neighbors, building connections, and finding our place in this community.

The lunch crowd has been steadily growing each week, which is such a joy to watch. Yesterday was one for the books—a couple days ago, a representative from the Mayor’s Office stopped by to interview us for a feature in their small business spotlight online. They shared our story and photos on their social media, and today… wow. The response was overwhelming. We saw so many new faces, and everyone left smiling. The kind words, the laughter, the vibrant plates of food from a menu that I wrote—it filled the room with something magic.

I’ll be honest—while I hustled in the kitchen, moving from station to station and keeping the orders flowing, I felt tears in my eyes. Not because I was overwhelmed, but because I was so stinking grateful. It’s so very easy, on the slower days, to let worry creep in. When you’re working sixteen-hour days, the quiet can feel so much louder and longer than the rushes. But moments like today remind me why I’m here.

I’m just so happy to be part of Columbia’s heartbeat, to be neck-deep into this calling. This restaurant has always been in the cards for me. I’ve talked about it for years—dreamed about it, planned for it—and somehow, the universe listened. This place is literally my dream come true. I’ve never felt so blessed, so supported, and so loved.

Here’s to the meals we’ve served, the friends we’ve made, and the memories still to come. Columbia, thank you for welcoming us with open arms.
