We’re ready. Are you?
Exactly 149 days ago, I started ripping down wallpaper and hauling old Chinese restaurant decor out the rickety back steps and into the dumpster.
Since then, between the painting, chopping, wiring, and everything in between, I’ve worked 60-70 hour weeks to turn this space into something new — something built with and inspired by the same spirit that led me to creating music with Bombadier: with intention, with a heart that craves community and friendship, and of course with my own two hands, and never alone.
Naturally none of this would be what it is without Cat. It probably wouldn’t even exist. She is forever my muse, designer, project (and personal) manager and the soul behind every detail in this space. She poured her heart into every corner. I just brought the muscle to make it all happen.
We also couldn’t have done it without all the friends who showed up to lend a hand— sanding, pulling wire, lending tools, and pouring their time and energy into Cat’s Kettle with nothing but excitement and belief. I’m endlessly grateful. Shout out to everyone who pitched in. Greg Sword, Connor and Addie, Anatoli, Matthew, Scotty and Sophia, Bunny, Heidi and Richard, Petr and Tony and anyone else who helped us get here. Y’all are the realest. We couldn’t have made it without you.
Cat’s Kettle opens Friday, July 25 at 5:30 PM.
We’ll be serving up dinner through the weekend:
Friday–Sunday | 5:30–11:00 PM
Live music Friday night around 8 PM with Matthew Smith of Mind at Large and Bunny of Painting Angels and The Morel Support Group.
Lunch service coming soon — aiming for Wednesday, July 30.
Come by. Bring someone. Stay a while.
See you soon!
